(Springfield, IL) – May 30, 2012. The Illinois Senate Executive Committee held a heated three hour hearing this morning on three separate Illinois pension reform bills, but failed to act on the measures.
The committee heard multiple opponents and proponents on the various components of the bills before Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) decided abruptly to recess the committee without a vote.

Meanwhile, AFSCME executive director Henry Bayer today said that a lawsuit against the proposed changes under consideration by both the Illinois House and Senate is being prepared.
The legislature is scheduled to adjourn on May 31 at 12:00 a.m.
